Shudokan Aikido ticked all the boxes and the instructors are really world class. If you want a challenge then I suggest you get along to sample what it’s all about.

I was initially nervous about starting a martial art, but the teachers at Aikido Shudokan are so knowledgeable and supportive that I felt immediately comfortable in all classes. I can't recommend highly enough.

Despite this, Aikido was something that I've wanted to pursue for a long time because I thought it could avoid brutality if conflict was inevitable and the appeal of it's scientific, almost graceful approach to biomechanics. Thankfully I've not had to test the former but have found so much more under the tutelage of an outstanding Sensei of the art and it's traditions who is supported by a welcoming community of like minded students and instructors!
